Dentists recommend that you keep your toothbrush at least 6 feet away from a toilet
Dentists have recommended that a toothbrush be kept at least six (6) feet away from a toilet to avoid airborne particles resulting from the flush. Being stored unprotected on countertops or in toothbrush holders, toothbrushes are vulnerable to contamination from airborne bacteria, such as from a flushing toilet. Scientists commonly find coliform bacteria (E. coli). (GROSS!) http://www.dentalgentlecare.com/
